Detailed Legal & Statutory Meaning (MPLRC 1959)
When multiple co-sharers own land jointly under a single Khatauni, no individual co-owner can sell a specific demarcated physical portion without partition. Under Section 178 MPLRC, the Tehsildar executes Batwara by mutual consent (Aapasi Batwara) or court order, creating new sub-numbers (e.g. Khasra 52/1, 52/2).

Protects buyers from purchasing unpartitioned shares where other family co-owners can subsequently file injunction lawsuits.
